Counting Problems in Lattices

Abstract

In addition to the Binomial Theorem, Pascal's Triangle gives a method for counting paths in a rectangular grid. We review Vandermonde convolution in this context and consider similar examples, including Young diagrams and semi-magic squares of size 3.
