Abstract
Abstract: I will give a brief overview of nonlinear evolution equations used in fluid dynamics, optics, quantuum physics and biological models and describe possible behaviors of solutions. I will then show how analysis methods help study these equations. In particular, how to establish global vs. finite (in time) existence of solutions and further properties such as solutions becoming essentially linear or periodic, and various geometries and scenarios of blow up solutions.
