Abstract
We consider a case study of cervical cancer screening study with a medical device where statisticians have played a major role. Because this is a collaborative study involving researchers from a variety of academic and professional disciplines, it is essential that we understand the problem on hand and the complexities of this large scale project. We explain that statistics (and mathematics) can provide important assistance in uncovering and understanding such issues, and why many projects can benefit from statistical components.
