Abstract

There is a natural way to try to embed a topological group into a compact topological group. Unfortunately, it doesn't work. Fortunately, it leads to some interesting stuff in dynamics. But first, I have to tell you about the tangent bundle… (This talk is, I hope, suitable for advanced undergraduates).
