Math 34500: Theory of Numbers

This is a first course in number theory, covering the topics of the fundamental theorem of arithmetic, congruences, quadratic reciprocity and applications to cryptography. We will also discuss the implementation of basic number-theoretic algorithms.
Prereq.: A grade of C or higher in MATH 30800 or placement by the Department. 4 HR./WK.; 4 CR.
