Textbook: Discrete Mathematics and its Applications by K. H. Rosen (Seventh Edition)

Chapter 2, Sections 2.1--2.4; Chapter 5, Sections 5.1--5.3; Chapter 6, Sections 6.1--6.5; Chapter 8, Sections 8.1--8.3, 8.5, 8.6; Chapter 10, Sections 10.1--10.8; Chapter 11, Sections 11.1, 11.2, 11.4, 11.5.

Quizzes: 10%
Exam 1: 20%
Exam 2: 20%
Final Exam: 50%

Exam Information

Exam 1: Thursday, October 5
Exam 2: Thursday, November 2

Exams 1 and 2 will be administered during the class time. The final exam will be at the time scheduled by the College during the final exam period. No makeup exams are allowed for the exams. No calculators, books, or notes are permitted on any exam. You are required to bring a photo ID.

Homework and Quizzes

Homework will be assigned but not graded. Problem sets will be posted on the course webpage. Quizzes will be given at the beginning of class on Tuesdays, once every two weeks. Typical quiz exercises will be selected homework problems. There are no makeup quizzes. To address extraordinary circumstances leading to a missed quiz (or a poor performance on a quiz), the lowest quiz score will be dropped.
